And it Begins
December 7th, 2006 by Corey DavisI have resisted the temptation to blog for quite some time now. I’ve considered it off and on for a couple years, but work on Logistic for Lotus Domino kept my little fingers so busy that I just couldn’t bare the thought of tackling the task of writing, even if semi-regularly. Heck, I don’t even respond to the many blogs I read on a daily basis. I read the main post and move on. Even some of the heated debates that have taken place over this past year couldn’t get me to hit the Submit A Response button. So much for community interaction.
That’s all about to change. Well…I hope.
Logistic is now gold. Has been for about eight months. Our second product (more on that in the next post) is getting close to alpha. Our third product is in the planning stages, so if I don’t get this blog rolling now I may not for several more months.
Besides the timing, there is just something so compelling about blogging to me. I feel like I have gotten to know members of the Domino community quite well over the past couple years. But none of them know me. Okay, that’s not entirely true. Some of them know me, but not as well as they could. Don’t get me wrong. This is not an ego booster. What it is is a means to interact with the Domino community on a much more frequent basis than trips to conferences have allowed. I want to get to know my customers, my detractors (if I don’t have any now I will soon), and my colleagues. I want to weigh in on topics that are important to the Domino community, application development, Conxsys, my customers, as well as technology in general. Hopefully this will not become another “dead blog” statistic, but right now it is going to start off as my experiment in community interaction. If it works it will be wonderful. If not, well, more time to code I guess.
