Elguji Software announced today that on November 20th they will launch Idea Jam , a site for the Lotus community to come together to share ideas on how to improve Lotus Notes and Domino. Users of the site can promote or demote ideas (vote) as well as leave comments in an effort to improve the idea. The hope is that IBM will take notice and use Idea Jam as a launching point for feature additions and enhancements to Lotus Notes and Domino, as well as other Lotus products such as Connections, Quikr, Sametime, Symphony, and Websphere Portal.

I have been beta testing the site since September and already there are dozens of ideas posted and some very good conversation that has evolved throughout the process. The team that brings us Idea Jam — Elguji Software , Matt White of Fynn Software , and Sean Burgess — have been dedicated to continually improving the system.

Whether IBM will actually utilize this grassroots effort or not remains to be seen, but it already seems hard to ignore the amount of time and energy that the community is devoting to this effort. I congratulate the Idea Jam team and will continue to be a regular contributor to the site.
