Help Name Our New Application Results (Finally!)

November 10th, 2008 by Corey Davis

All the way back on August 11th I asked you to Help Name Our New Application.  In the comments I made the ridiculous statement that I would announce the result in the “coming days or weeks”.  I guess months would have been more accurate.  For this I apologize.  It is a prime example of the agonizing I put into naming products.

First, let me say that I truly appreciate the help from everyone and for different reasons I liked all the suggestions.  However, I had to pick just one.  The two I found myself coming back to over and over again were Chris Blatnick’s Flashback and Andre Guirard’s Rewind.  While Flashback provides some very fun marketing potential, I ultimately decided that Rewind conveyed the application’s purpose in the clearest manner.  The only issue was that Rewind is very generic.  To that end I have decided to call the application nsfRewind to make it crystal clear that this application is for Notes/Domino.

nsfRewind will be going into a short, managed beta in the next week or two (no, really, it will!).  Look for a post on that soon if you are interested in participating.

Thanks again to everyone for your help and special thanks to Andre!  We’ll be doing this again when we rename Logistic sometime in 2009.
