nsfRewind is the first tool to allow administrators and end-users to backup and restore data in Domino databases at the document’s field-level, and it is now available. nsfRewind utilizes a micro-backup architecture to achieve field-level backup and restore saving Domino administrators countless hours by bypassing the cumbersome task of restoring the entire database from tape.

With every change being recorded, nsfRewind also doubles as a data auditing and monitoring utility. It can be configured to send e-mail alerts when specific fields or documents are modified, thus providing an unparalleled level of security in knowing that modifications to an organization’s most critical documents are being recorded and can easily be restored to their previous state. Administrators will be able to “walkâ€? through the entire history of changes to each field, as well as rollback — “rewindâ€? — fields to any previously recorded value with a simple mouse click.

nsfRewind is initially being released in two editions: Server Document Edition and Enterprise Edition.

nsfRewind Server Document Edition is free and serves as the trial version of nsfRewind. This edition is limited to only monitoring the Domino Directory’s server documents, but otherwise is full-featured.

Domino server documents are the most important configuration document in any IBM Lotus Domino server environment. With over 650 fields to maintain in a single server document, it has become a daunting task for administrators to track changes, especially in environments with tens or hundreds of Domino servers. nsfRewind eases the burden of this administrative overhead.

nsfRewind Enterprise Edition will backup and monitor any document in any database including the Domino Directory, legal hold mail databases, document libraries, discussion databases, third-party Notes applications, and even in-house custom-built databases.

With today’s emphasis on industry and regulatory compliance, tracking and maintaining a list of all field-level changes to critical documents comes with a high administrative overhead. nsfRewind makes it possible and cost-effective with fully automated real-time and/or scheduled backups and audits.
